X-Ray and Gamma radiography. We can bring the service to your location, develop film, and provide immediate results on any type of system or article requiring radiography.
Automated digital x-ray is our specialty, micro-focus and mini-focus x-ray allows the use of geometric enlargement which can greatly enhance image quality. Our Computed Tomography (CT) system (3D x-ray images) displays not only the flaw but the flaw orientation within the article being inspected, an aspect that is lost in any 2D presentation. When the confidence level in a product has to be the highest, CT is the answer.
Pulse Echo (Straight Beam or Angle Beam), Field Inspections can be performed on structural or piping welds; shapes, forgings or castings.
Automated Through Transmission & Pulse Echo (modified immersion) testing can be performed in our shop on most flat or cylindrical product. Size limitations may prohibit use of these test methods. Our system can accommodate essentially flat articles < 12’ x 6’ or cylindrical objects < 10’ dia. x 4’ long.
Ground Penetrating Radar
GPR is typically used for concrete slab, and deck inspection to locate internal objects, such as post-tension cables, and conduit in order to avoid damage when penetrations are made. Also used to find underground utilities or any other buried object.
Shop & Field Magnetic Particle Testing
This method is useful for detection of surface and shallow subsurface flaws. A magnetic field is induced in the test object and a finely divided ferromagnetic particle powder or slurry is applied while the part is magnetized. Any surface or near surface flaw will attract the particles making the flaw readily visible.
Shop & Field Liquid Penetrant Testing
Penetrant is useful for detecting flaws open to the surface, and is the most sensitive inspection method for surface flaws. Visible and fluorescent penetrant can be used depending on specification requirements. Penetrant removal is performed with either solvent dampened wipes or a controlled pressure/temperature water spray. Developer used to bring out any penetrant trapped by a surface irregularity is typically non-aqueous wet aerosol type developer.
